Good Vibes & Scribbled Lines: Discover Neurographic Art!

Feeling stressed or overwhelmed? Neurographic Art is a simple, calming art therapy technique known for reducing stress and anxiety, helping you feel more peaceful. As you create, you'll often lose track of time, finding a sense of calm. This accessible art form uses basic lines and supplies, perfect for any age or skill level.

What is Neurographic Art?

Neurographic Art, created in 2014 by Russian artist and psychologist Pavel Piskarev, is a meditative art form. It's designed to help you relax and disconnect from your worries. As you create, your brain gets a boost of dopamine—that "feel-good" hormone—which brings feelings of satisfaction and pleasure. This unique "doodling" style helps your mind enter a peaceful, meditative state, allowing you to fully experience the calming benefits of Neurographic Art.

Watercolor Neurographic Art

  • Watercolor Paper

  • Watercolor Paints

  • Brushes

  • Water Cup

  • Paper Towels

  • Black Marker

Other Supply Options Not Shown in Tutorial:

Step 1: Draw Loose Lines

Use your black marker to draw long, flowing, scribble-like lines in various directions across your paper.

  • Make sure the lines start and end at the edge of the paper. Let them intersect freely.

  • Recommendation: use a minimum of 5 lines to start. Fill in if needed.

Step 2: Round the Corners.

Wherever your lines cross, gently round out any sharp corners. Make all intersections soft and continuous.

Step 3: Add Color!

Fill in the shapes you've created with your favorite watercolors. Let your intuition guide your color choices!
